BATTLE CREEK, MICH. – The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) announces the release of its 2016 annual report: “Real Change for Children: Creating Equitable Communities.”

The report presents a preview of the foundation’s refined grantmaking priorities, which emerged following a series of 14 community conversations with more than 1,600 grantees and partners. The updated priorities – Thriving Children, Working Families and Equitable Communities – sharpen the foundation’s focus, as it continues to build upon and leverage eight decades of work in advancing real change for children and creating more equitable communities.

“The field of philanthropy is evolving and we are advancing our efforts in creating measurable outcomes for our children, families and communities,” said La June Montgomery Tabron, WKKF president and CEO. “This focus is critical to the grantees and communities we serve, so that our investments support children and families in realizing their brighter futures.”

In addition to a visual of the grantmaking priorities, the 2016 annual report includes individual grant highlights, letters from Tabron and Board Chair Ramón Murguía, financial statements and grantmaking summaries.

Kellogg Foundation (WKKF), founded in 1930 as an independent, private foundation by breakfast cereal pioneer, Will Keith Kellogg, is among the largest philanthropic foundations in the United States. Guided by the belief that all children should have an equal opportunity to thrive, WKKF works with communities to create conditions for vulnerable children so they can realize their full potential in school, work and life.

The Kellogg Foundation is based in Battle Creek, Michigan, and works throughout the United States and internationally, as well as with sovereign tribes. Special emphasis is paid to priority places where there are high concentrations of poverty and where children face significant barriers to success. WKKF priority places in the U.S. are in Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico and New Orleans; and internationally, are in Mexico and Haiti. For more information.
