New racial equity, diversity & inclusion resource

Ours is an inside-out approach – building on the Kellogg Foundation’s deep commitment to racial equity and always coming back to children as our focus.” – La June Montgomery Tabron, president and CEO

Today, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) announces the release of its new racial equity, diversity and inclusion resource: One Journey. One Journey shares lessons from WKKF’s experience with organizational leaders, human resource professionals and any individual or organization looking to advance racial equity in nonprofits, business or community groups.

The journey toward racial equity, diversity and inclusion is a long one. At the Kellogg Foundation, we’ve learned that pursuing racial equity fosters stronger relationships and partnerships that lead to what we desire: thriving children, working families and equitable communities.

In this new resource, read what our board and executive leadership have learned; how we approach and review internal policies and practices; and how and where we leverage our networks, research and voice at key opportunities.

The events we’re living through now — almost 900,000 lives lost worldwide to COVID-19; the widespread unrest and calls for justice — are exposing the effects of racial, economic and health inequities that have been generations in the making.  This resource provides a clear pathway for individuals and organizations to take action. Explore the examples and stories offered in this guide to inform and advance our collective racial equity journey.
