Our Funding Focus

Our employment equity grantmaking supports initiatives that increase access to resources, promote financial stability, create high-quality employment opportunities and strengthen entrepreneurship.

This work includes:

• Supporting equitable access to jobs that pay family-sustaining wages, offer benefits and worker protections and provide career-building opportunities, especially in high-growth industries.
• Advancing the development and enforcement of labor standards and worker rights.
• Increasing entrepreneurship and microenterprise for women, families of color and tribal communities through access to capital, employee ownership and worker cooperatives that help keep and sustain jobs in communities of color.
• Changing practices and policies that protect and supplement income and facilitate family economic security and wealth-building.

• National Council for Occupational Safety and Health honors Workers’ Memorial Week to bring attention to unsafe job conditions.
• Grantees organize for low-wage workers.
