AgriNews featured Food Resource Bank and its program to raise support for food security projects overseas. Food Resources Bank organizes U.S. churches, communities, civic clubs and individuals in “growing” projects to raise money for areas of the world where there are food shortages. In 2005, Foods Resource Bank funded 50 programs in 30 countries. Since 2000, its programs have supported more than half a million people. In the May 30, 2006, AgriNews article, Foods Resource Bank president, Marv Baldwin, noted that a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for administrative expenses has empowered the non-profit organization to send 100 percent of the money raised in community growing projects to overseas programming.
