We envision a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive and every family and community has the power to build their own future. We support efforts to change systems so they work better for everyone, recognizing that innovative solutions arise from the families and communities experiencing the greatest challenges.

Early Care and Education

Early childhood care and education is essential for preparing kids to reach their full potential – whether that education occurs in the home, a child care center, a community- or school-based setting. We seek to improve the quality of daily experiences, learning and life outcomes for children from birth through age 8.

Employment Equity

A child’s future looks brighter when their parents succeed – thriving in a well-paying job, building their own business, progressing on a career pathway and building wealth. However, institutional and structural racism and sexism get in the way. These forces show up as historic and ongoing disinvestment, shifts in the economy or technology that stifle opportunity – and impact women and workers of color most.

Health Equity

We’re focused on ensuring every child and family can achieve optimal health and well-being, be nurtured by their community and receive appropriate, culturally relevant supports. Our work includes helping people to safely bring babies into the world, ensuring access to health care, strengthening public health and addressing systemic barriers – including racism – that are at the root of health inequities.

Food Systems

An equitable and sustainable food system is one that provides physical, economic and community health, respects natural resources and ensures that all people live with dignity and freedom from exploitation. We work with those involved in the growth, production and distribution of food to re-envision food systems that reflect values from racial equity to better health to environmental and economic sustainability.
